As our world becomes more interconnected and complex, parents and teachers must traverse an expanding terrain of issues that affect the lives of teens. One such issue is the emergence of “fake news” and (more commonly) biased sources of information online. All KAIS students partook in a media literacy project earlier in the school year, in which we attempted to shed light on the many biases in the messages we consume through the media. This is an ongoing conversation we are having at school, as decoding biases and misinformation is an essential tool for navigating our multi-platform world.
