The boys’ and girls’ basketball teams both had their first game this Thursday, and we are certainly off to a great start. The Lady Llamas displayed fantastic teamwork and sportsmanship despite coming out on the losing end of the tilt. Everyone played well, and Patricia, Ally, Alice, and Marii all got their first buckets of the season. We are so excited to have a girls’ team this year, and really proud of their improvement so far.
The boys’ scored an ultra-dramatic one-point victory over last year’s league champions, CIS. With Alex Sendra starting off the scoring, David Toyama building on the lead, the Twin Towers providing stout defense, and Marty Phu refusing to lose in crunch time, an all-around team effort resulted in a thrilling win. It’s a super start to the season, and we hope to keep our momentum in the new year.
