Jack McLean’s two passions in life are drawing and karate. He has an MFA from Glasgow School of Art, a second degree black belt in Shotokan style karate, and a first degree black belt in Kyokushin style karate. Drawing and karate are very similar; they are both concerned with aspects of focus, self improvement, observation and awareness, and as such are very important disciplines for every day life. Jack is originally from Glasgow, Scotland, and has lived in Japan for 25 years. He is married and has a dog. Other than drawing and karate, Jack likes mountains, music, movies, and a good book!
