We are visiting Watarium Museum in Aoyama after school on Wednesday, June 5th. The painting exhibition “Walk This Way” is showing the art of John Lurie, also known as a musician and an actor featured in the films of Jim Jarmusch. Students–if you’re interested, please sign up by Friday, May 31st. There are 18 spots available for free admission! Here is some information about the exhibition:
John Lurie (b. 1952) became known as an actor and musician for his work in films such as Stranger Than Paradise. Since the late 1990s he has suffered from Lyme Disease, and the illness caused him to turn away from film and music, and toward art. This exhibition introduces his artwork from the past 20 years, inviting us into his world where biting irony, freedom, and anarchy coexist.
