Due to the global spread of COVID-19, the College Board has just announced the cancellation of the May 2020 SAT. All registrants will receive a refund and efforts will be made to offer additional testing opportunities for affected students. This decision has the most impact on the 11th grade students at KAIS, who are preparing materials for the fall application process. The next available SAT is August 29, 2020. Spots tend to fill up quickly, so students should register as soon as possible. Students needing to take SAT Subject Tests may be able to still take them on the June 6, 2020 administration, which has not been cancelled yet. Another option to consider, particularly for students applying to universities in the US, is the ACT. The ACT has yet to announce blanket international test cancellations. Please do your research and decide carefully. Responses to COVID-19 are rapidly changing. We hope that, for next year’s university applicants, universities take current events into account and are more flexible with their standardized testing requirements.
